She furthered her studies as a grantee of the Swedish Government at the Royal Academy of Music, Stockholm and the Swedish Radio School of Chamber Music, Edsberg where she worked with such outstanding artists as Greta Erickson, Kurt Levin and Frans Helmerson.

After her debut in 1977, when she was still a student, she performed as a soloist with the Henryk Wieniawski Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in Lublin where she played e.g., the piano concertos of J. Katarzyna Jankowska-Borzykowska has made very many radio recordings (library and occasional), at home and abroad, e.g., in France, Germany, Denmark and Finland. She has also recorded for television, given “live” recitals and recorded for documentaries. Her recording with Jerzy Artysz was awarded the title “Recording of the Year 1990”. Katarzyna Jankowska-Borzykowska has also recorded many CDs. She and the mezzo-soprano Urszula Kryger are laureates of the “Fryderyki 2001” award for K. Szymanowski’s songs. She records for many record companies: Tonnpress, DUX, the Japanese Pony Canyon Inc. and several German companies.

Katarzyna Jankowska-Borzykowska has frequently attended national and international master courses where she has collaborated with such outstanding musicians and teachers as cellists Kazimierz Wiłkomirski, Kazimierz Michalik, Ivan Monigetti, Daniel Szafran and Ivan Salo and the singer Teresa Żylis-Gara. She has participated in International Competitions (W. Lutosławski, St. Moniuszko) where she has been awarded honourable mention. She has accompanied young, gifted singers and instrumentalists at numerous competitions including some of the most important ones, e.g., the P. Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, the J. Brahms Competition in Hamburg, the Munich “Radio”, “Geneva” and “Eurovision Competitions”.

Katarzyna Jankowska-Borzykowska has taught at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, her alma mater, for many years. She has been a professor there since 2007. She teaches piano chamber music, passing on her experience as a performer, her artistic sensitivity and her passion to new generations of musicians.
