Aleksander Szebesczyk

Aleksander Szebesczyk is a horn player of the National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. He began to learn how to play the French horn at the age of 11 in Wrocław where he comes from. He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. In 1999 he was a holder of the Yamaha Foundation scholarship. He developed his horn playing skills under such outstanding instrumentalists and virtuosi as Jan Jeżewski, Zdenek Tylsar and Herman Baumann.
At the age of twenty he started working at the National Philharmonic orchestra, he soon became its first horn player and soloist. He has made numerous recordings of symphony music and participated in numerous concert tours with that orchestra. He is also invited to collaborate with many leading orchestras and music ensembles such as: Sinfonia Varsovia, Concerto Avenna, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, etc.
Aleksander Szebesczyk has performed as a soloist with the following orchestras: National Philharmonic, Sinfonia Varsovia, Concerto Avenna, New Chamber Orchestra, Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, and Orchestra of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, performing concertos by Forster, Mozart, Haydn, Strauss and Schuman. He is also very active as a chamber musician. He has been a member of the Brass Quintet of the National Philharmonic since 1990, which is the date when it was founded.
He sits on the jury of all-Poland horn competitions and conducts master courses for young horn players. The album ‘Qattrocorno’, on which he alone recorded all the horn quartet parts, has special place among his achievements.
Aleksander Szebesczyk is professionally connected with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music since 1990 when he, still being a student, started working as Assistant in the horn class of Professor Jan Jeżewski. In 2009, having completed all procedures for a post-doctoral degree, he obtained a post-doctoral title and the post of Assistant Professor.
