Kompozytor, dyrygent, laureat 20 nagród na międzynarodowych i ogólnopolskich konkursach kompozytorskich. Jego utwory  zostały zarejestrowane na 16 płytach CD, a wykonywane były m.in. w NOSPR, Teatrze Wielkim-Operze Narodowej w Warszawie,  Filharmonii Narodowej w Warszawie, Filharmoniach: Łódzkiej, Lubelskiej, Opolskiej, Podlaskiej, Świętokrzyskiej, Podkarpackiej, Gorzowskiej, a za granicą w USA, Japonii, Niemczech, Norwegii, Rosji, na Ukrainie, na Węgrzech, w Słowenii, Estonii oraz w Wietnamie i Singapurze. Jako dyrygent, specjalizujący się w wykonawstwie muzyki nowej, ma na koncie kilkadziesiąt prawykonań, występy na prestiżowych festiwalach (m. in. Musica Electronica Nova, Poznańska Wiosna, Warszawskie Spotkania Muzyczne) oraz 4 płyty CD.

Ignacy Zalewski

Ignacy Zalewski (b. 1990), composer, conductor. He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied composition with prof. Marcin Błażewicz (2009–2014). In 2015 he obtained DMus.

He developed his compositional skills during individual masterclasses with prof. Krzysztof Penderecki (Warsaw, 2015) and during workshops led by Magnus Lindberg (London, 2016), prof. Wolfgang Rihm (Rostock, 2011).

Ignacy Zalewski was a composer-in-residence of Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra (2013–2014) and currently in Kielce Philharmonic (2016–2017).

He is a prize-winner of over a dozen awards on international and all-polish composers’ competitions e.g. 1st prize on the Multiculturalism doesn’t work? International Composers’ Competition (2014), 1st prize on the 51st T. Baird Composers’ Competition (2010), laureate of 3rd Prize and Special Award on International Krzysztof Penderecki ARBORETUM Composer’s Competition (2012), 2nd prize on the All-Polish K. Szymanowski Composer’s Competition (2013), Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage’s Award for ”outstanding artistic achievements” (2012). He is also scholarship holder of the South-korean Dongsan Research Foundation (2012) and Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education (2012).

He is also a winner of “Amadeus” Award for the best Polish Radio composer’s debut (2015) granted by Polish National Broadcasting Council, and awarded for “the best radio play score” at “Dwa Teatry” (“Two Theaters”) Festival in Sopot (2015).

His pieces were performed in Japan, Germany, Russia, Hungary, Slovenia, Norway, Ukraine and Poland by such artists as Jacek Kaspszyk, Wojciech Michniewski, Szymon Bywalec, Jessica Cottis, Marzena Diakun, Agata Szymczewska, Marek Bracha, Leszek Lorent, Maciej Frąckiewicz and such orchestras as Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Polish Radio Orchestra, Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra,  Beethoven Academy Orchestra.

Since 2014 Ignacy Zalewski works as a lecturer at Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, since 2015 as an Assistant Professor.

Since 2012 he is a member of Polish Society of Authors and Composers ZAiKS.

Conductor and member of Hashtag Ensemble dedicated to new music, which he played with on numerous festivals in Poland, e.g. Musica Electronica Nova, Poznan Music Spring, Musical Gardens Festival in Warsaw. His recording of Wojciech Błażejczyk’s Warsaw Music was chosen to the final stage (six pieces from Europe) of Palma Ars Acustica Competition organized by European Broadcasting Union.
