Kim Ae Ran

Born in South Korea, she graduated from Keimyung Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Daegu in the class of Prof. Ewa Iżykowska- Lipińska and from the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Prof. Krystyna Szostek-Radkowa (2006).

She honed her vocal skills during courses conducted by such artists as Paola Larin, James David Broc, Janet Perry and Ryszard Karczykowski. Shortly after the master classes, she completed the Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Study of Song. She completed her doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ewa Iżykowska- Lipińska.

She is a laureate of international vocal competitions. Since 2003 she has appeared on stage as a soloist in numerous concerts in Poland and abroad: Ceremonial Concert on the occasion of the 90'th anniversary of Ignacy Jan Paderewski's assumption of the portfolios of the first Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Second Republic of Poland in Warsaw at the Royal Castle; concert on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Ignacy Jan Paderewski's birth in Wrocław in 2011 during the “Festival of Viennese Music”; soloist of the XII Summer Music Festival in Krynica-Zdrój in 2014; she performed on the stage of the Chamber Philharmonic in Kuwait by special invitation. Principal soloist at the first concert in Poland by the National Korean Orchestra at the Dramatic Theater in 2019. Together with the conductor of the National Korean Orchestra, she prepared compositions of works combining musical elements of traditional Korean music along with elements of European classical music. She performed the role of Mimi in the Opera “La Bohème” on the stage of Rheinsberg Opera in Germany. Performed the role of Scintlla in the Opera “La Contatina” (in the German version “Die Kluge Bauerin” - J.A. Hasse). In 2014,2017, she performed on the stage of the Swietokrzyska Philharmonic and at the Warsaw Chamber Opera in the Opera “Don Giovanni” (W.A. Mozart) as Donna Elvira. 

In addition to her work as an educator and musician, she serves as a concert organizer. Since 2008, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of South Korea and the Korean Cultural Center, she has organized more than 27 classical music concerts. Since 2009 until today, she has been closely associated with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, where she serves as Dean of the Department of Vocal and Acting Studies and Coordinator for Korean students.
