Doctoral School

Welcome to the Doctoral School of the Chopin University of Music.
The Doctoral School at the Chopin University of Music (UMFC) is a place where tradition meets modernity, and where passion for music meets the highest academic standards. In operation since 2020, our Doctoral School offers a unique training program in the musical arts discipline, enabling doctoral students to develop both artistic skills and research competence.

The training program at the UMFC Doctoral School is designed to enable doctoral students to achieve learning effects at Level 8 of the Polish Qualification Framework. This means that graduates of our Doctoral School acquire:
- advanced knowledge in the musical arts, enabling a creative and innovative attitude to artistic and scientific activities,
- research skills that allow them to independently conduct scientific and artistic projects, as well as to critically analyze and interpret musical phenomena,
- social competencies necessary for effective communication in the academic and artistic environment, as well as for the popularization of knowledge and musical culture in society.

Our mission is to train doctoral students who will become leaders in their fields, able to creatively solve problems and make significant contributions to the development of the art of music. Recruitment to the UMFC Doctoral School takes place every two years. Since its inception in 2020, we have held three admissions, and the next one is planned for the 2026/2027 academic year. Persons with a master's degree or equivalent, who meet the conditions set forth in the UMFC Senate's resolution, may apply for admission.

We invite you to join our community and create the future of music together!
